Accommodation available for the 150th Golf Open Championship 2022 is a 3 bedroom spacious, traditional townhouse located in Cupar town centre (KY15 5HH) 9 miles from St Andrews, 13 mile from Dundee, 25 miles to Carnoustie and 47 miles from Edinburgh Airport. Cupar train station is only a few minutes’ walk from the property as is the bus stop to Edinburgh and Dundee, the bus stop to St Andrews is located on the Crossgate directly outside the front of the property.
Cupar, once a prominent royal burgh in the Kingdom of Fife, remains the quintessential town nestling in the rolling hills of the Howe of Fife, surrounded by pretty villages and just a short drive from St Andrews. This former characterful market town has a plethora of historic buildings and ancient streets and wynds to explore. It also has some great independent shops, bistros, pubs and cafes not to mention excellent restaurants on the doorstep, including the Peat Inn (peatinn.co.uk) first to receive a Michelin star in Scotland, only 7 miles away.
Our property looks directly onto the Mercat cross dates back to 1683 and sits at the old centre of the town between Crossgate and Bonnygate. The ancient mercantile history continues at the same location on the third Saturday of every month with the popular farmer’s market, with over 30 stallholders offering a wide array of local meats, fish and dairy, fruit and vegetables, homebaking and crafts.
Cupar is home to Cupar Golf Course and Elmwood Golf Course. Golf lovers are spoilt for choice with a number of popular golf courses within close proximity to Cupar including; Ladybank (10mins), St Michaels (11mins), Scotscraig (17mins), Balbirnie (19mins), St. Andrews Links (20mins), Elie (26mins), Kingsbarn (30mins), Carnoustie (37mins) and Gleneagles (52mins).
For family-friendly outdoor fun, there is the choice of venues nearby including Muddy Boots or Cairnie Fruit Farm, which has a giant maze of maize. Alternatively, there is Fife Zoo or the Scottish Deer Centre.
Property Description
The property has been newly renovated throughout, the open will be the first opportunity for guests to experience this lovely property full of character. The property comprises three levels;
• On the first level there is a kitchen with small dining area, within the kitchen there is a dishwasher, washing machine, gas hob & oven, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster and kettle. On this level there is also a large bright living room with dining area, free Wi-Fi and a large television with sky box and Netflix (sports channels are available on request).
• On the second level there is a large master bedroom with king size bed and storage facilities. There is also a spacious bathroom on this level with a quadrant shower, separate bath and heated towel rail. The bathroom sanitary ware are all brand new, both the toilet and sink are comfort height.
• On the upper floor there are a further two bedrooms, the front facing comprises a king size bed and the smaller bedroom to the rear has two single beds. All beds, linen, mattresses, towels are again brand new. Cleaning service is available if required.
A welcome box of essentials will be available upon arrival (bread, milk, coffee, etc) we also live locally and are happy to assist you throughout the duration of your stay. Transport may also be available, and there is free parking available at the rear of the property.
